Executive's Guide to Secure DevOps Webinar
Whether you want to call it DevSecOps or SecDevOps or DevOps with a security angle, siloed security is no longer an option.
Gone are the days where the security team can hold all the relevant knowledge for an IT organization and personally enact all the security checks on software code or infrastructure hosting applications. There are too many new applications and features being deployed, too much infrastructure spun up and down daily.
Everyone needs to chip in, and the only way they can do that is if companies properly train members of cross-functional teams on what it means to build and deploy secure software.
This webinar is for leaders and decision makers in technology organizations. Particularly those in the midst of or thinking about a DevOps transformation.
Brought to you by Skillsoft and Security Innovation, we call this an executive’s guide because we’re not going to be covering the how-tos of implementation from a DevSecOps perspective. We’re really going to be focusing on getting your organization and your teams prepared for it.
Agenda:
DevOps vs. Traditional Approaches
DevSecOps in Practice
Managing / Making Room for DevOps
Fearless Penetration Testing Bootcamp
The Fearless Penetration Testing Bootcamp will be beneficial for anyone working in Cyber Security. The content will focus on gaining specific knowledge around physical penetration testing, social engineering, and vulnerability scanning. Finishing with the importance of documentation and report writing.
The content will discuss some of the tools and methods used by hackers to gain access to computer systems and networks. We will dig into how to break into a secure facility, use social engineering to gain access to a network, and conduct a basic network penetration test. We will cover the importance of a strong rules of engagement, and what to include in the report at the end of your penetration test. This course will be useful for anyone looking to get into cyber security or better understand the attack methodologies used by cyber criminals.
The course will run over 2 days, 4 hours per day, in an interactive lecture format. No certifications are required to attend this course; however, a basic understanding of cyber security is required.
Security Hardening: Take Action Now! Bootcamp
This Bootcamp will cover the scenarios that technical staff (developers, product managers, data scientists, etc) should be aware of to ensure that they protect their organizations against security threats. The Bootcamp will be guided the Confidentiality, Integrity & Availability (CIA) triad of information security as a means of dictating what constitutes a security breach. The bootcamp will be conducted as a brief lecture to introduce the module followed by practical demonstrations that attendees can replicate in their own environments. The module is important because security needs to be embedded in all facets of the organizations technical team and not just a function of a dedicated security department.
The Bootcamp is aimed at technical individuals working in technology departments that support critical functions. They will learn what more they can do to improve their security posture.
Those looking to attend this Bootcamp should posses technical knowledge in either software development, technical product management, or data science.
Before attending the live sessions, if you don’t already have one, please make sure you sign up for a free Microsoft Azure trial account at https://azure.microsoft.com/free/

Full Stack Developer Bootcamps
Software developers may realize that there is more to the industry than just writing code. Development itself is complicated with front end, logic, and persistence. Beyond this traditional 3-tier system there is testing, QA, deployment, and incremental updates which leads to integration.
In this course we will explore the knowledge areas pertinent to the full stack web developer skills portfolio including client-side and server-side technologies, persistence, and the web communication layer.
Students looking to attend this course should meet the following prerequisites:
Experience with HTML and CSS
Experience with Javascript
Experience working with databases
Full Stack Development with Node.js Bootcamp
Node.js is the premiere open-source web development platform. Now that JavaSript has made the jump to the server side, we can harness it’s power to build robust server apps component by component. This bootcamp gets into the building of APIs that can be consumed with other compatible applications based on JavaScript like React.
As we build the APIs you get to learn about all the technologies that go into making up a server application that provides APIs for other application to consume. No server will be complete without a database, so we dive into MongoDB for the backend storage.
This Bootcamp is beginner friendly Bootcamp for anyone with less than 2 years knowledge working with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Full Stack Development with the MEAN Stack Bootcamp
A continuation of our Full Stack Developer Bootcamp, the Full Stack Development with the MEAN Stack Bootcamp will build upon the application built in previous FSD Bootcamps. The app will be based on a weight loss competition. Accordingly, we will expect a user to register and then login after that. Each day the user logs in, she will record a weight for that day, this data will be fed into the database and will be displayed in one of two ways. Focus is placed on the building blocks of creating an app like this, so the learner feels comfortable with Angular, MongoDB and NodeJS, the MEAN stack.
In terms of Angular specific topics, we will be talking about:
ModulesComponentsTemplatesServicesMetadataDirectivesData bindingDependency injection
This course does not teach Angular principles but implementing those principles in the building of an app. We expect the learner to be familiar with JS, CSS and HTML as well as some database and jQuery knowledge.

Python for DevOps Bootcamp
The world has changed a lot in the last decade: Python is one of the most popular languages in the world, the cloud is ubiquitous, and data is hot. Another big change is everyone needs some type of automation. This course covers fiercely effective ways to “get stuff done” in Python. This will be taught using Colab, an interactive Jupyter environment, with hands-on code examples throughout the course. With software systems, for every failed perfect solution that never got implemented, there is a reasonable solution that could have improved things. Learn to embrace imperfect, but useful, automation and you will never look at a boring task the same way again.
Who should attend this Bootcamp? You are a DevOps engineer and want to automate tasks more effectively. You perform IT and want to get into DevOps. You are a developer who wants to become better at DevOps.
Having a google account will be helpful to run the colab notebook. Alternatively you can follow along with a Jupyter Notebook instance you have access to. Additionally, it will be helpful to have a free AWS account.
Prerequisites: Beginning Python skills (or proficiency in a scripting language and a basic understanding of Python syntax) Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts. Comfort working with Linux
Student References: Download or clone the code repository for the course: https://github.com/noahgift/python-devops-course. A free Google account will be needed to access notebooks in Google Colab. While a Google account is not required, it is strongly recommended to get the benefit of full participation with the exercises. (If you are unable to use Google Colab, a downloadable notebook will be available via a Github repo.)
Python Fundamentals Bootcamp
This course introduces you to the basics of programming in Python. The course will prepare you for intermediate courses and more advanced uses of the Python programming language. You will benefit from this course if you are new to programming, whether you have a business role or IT background. The course consists of 4 half-days of interactive lab sessions, where you will practice coding. No boring PowerPoint presentations, but live demos and hands-on exercises.
The course is suitable for anyone interested in learning Python. You don’t need any prior programming experience to participate in this course. After completing the course, you will have a solid foundation to continue your developer journey.
React Bootcamp
In this two day ReactJS bootcamp we will build a simple application with components. The course focusses on getting started with ReactJS. After building the app, we will add components, organize them and build a menu system to display those components. We will also add a mock database system to the apps so that we can work with CRUD operations. Once the app is functioning we will build a login system and demonstrate some of the features of ReactJS. Some of the features you will hear about are components of course, higher order components, JSX, state, React keys and life cycle hooks.
Students looking to attend this Bootcamp should have experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
